Robert E. Maute, PhD
Robert E. Maute, Ph.D. is an independent consultant specializing in petrophysics and well log interpretation. Robert has over 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, primarily with Mobil Oil Company (1977-1995) where he held various positions in Applied Petrophysics as well as in Research and Development. Robert received his B.S. degree in Physics from Lamar University and went on to attend Ohio State University, where he received his M.S. and his Ph.D. in Experimental Nuclear Physics. He is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts. Robert has received numerous awards including the Distinguished Teaching Award from the College of Mathematics and Physical Sciences at Ohio State University and the Distinguished Speaker Award from SPWLA. He has authored numerous publications and patents relating to applied petrophysics.
